Safeway in Steinbach has a good reason to feel proud today. The employees raised a little over $10,000.00 for the Mennonite Heritage Village.  The big cheque was handed over on the weekend.  The money will be used to purchase 2 golf cart type vehicles that can drive people around the museum grounds.  If there is cash left over it will go towards the house barn restoration project.  Program Coordinator Linda Schroeder is thrilled to have been picked as the charity and to have this money to buy something that's been on their wish list.  Krista Friesen with Safeway is really proud of how hard everyone worked to raise over $10,000.00 for the museum.  She adds they are already thinking ahead to their next project so anyone interested in being their charity for next year should fill out an application in the next little while.
