RCMP, OFC, and volunteers conduct extensive search, 70-year-old woman still missing

Sprague RCMP continue to investigate the disappearance of 70-year-old Ywanna (Jean) Backman. 

It is believed that Backman was last seen Friday, October 13th, and last made contact with a friend on October 15th. 

This past weekend from October 20th to 23rd, RCMP units including Search and Rescue (SAR), Police Dog Services (PDS), Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA), volunteers from Winnipeg Search and Rescue as well as residents from the surrounding area, conducted an extensive ground search. 

Ywanna (Jean) Backman, from the RM of Piney, has yet to be located.
