The Manitoba Government says it will appoint an administrator to help run the RM of Ritchot after three of the five members of council resigned this past weekend.

Mayor Jackie Hunt along with councillors Jeannot Robert and Ron Mamchuk have handed in their resignations. They have not yet said why.

According to the Municipal Act, the province will appoint an administrator who will have the authority to make decisions on behalf of council until new council members are elected. The administrator will be directed to call by-elections for the vacated seats as soon as possible. In a statement, the province says it is actively working at this time to appoint an administrator to get the process rolling.
