The Steinbach Pistons' four-game homestand came to an end Wednesday night with a 4-3 shootout loss to the Winnipeg Saints at the T.G. Smith Centre. Corey Petrash and Brett Chartier did the damage in the shootout for the Saints. Oliver McCluskey, Dustin Loeppky and Justin Augert did the goal scoring in regulation for the Pistons who trailed 2-1 after the first period and 3-1 after forty minutes. Steinbach goaltender Mitch Backhouse faced 27 shots. Former Pistons netminder Addison Herosian stopped 42 of the 45 shots he faced as well as shootout attempts by Daniel Taillefer, Dennis Bosc and Cole Brunet. Steinbach's next game is Friday night in Portage against the defending Manitoba Junior Hockey League champion Terriers.
