There are a couple of new trends developing among immigrants settling in the Steinbach area.  Settlement worker Richard Harder says the families are not as large as they used to be.  And, more of them are coming from the Philippines and U.K.  Harder says these immigrants prefer to settle in Steinbach whereas the ones from Germany like the acreages outside the city.  He says the first wave of immigrants coming to our area has yet to end.
Harder says the numbers keep climbing and many of these immigrants say they have family members following them.  In fact, Harder says it's shaping up to be a record year for immigrants settling in the Steinbach area.
