A vehicle was hit while backing off a residential driveway on Giesbrecht Street just north of Reimer Avenue late Sunday morning.

Steinbach Fire deputy assistant fire chief Mike Penner says one vehicle was traveling south on Giesbrecht and it appears they tried to stop but slid and collided with the vehicle backing off their driveway, who failed to see the oncoming vehicle.

Penner notes there is ice under the snow which has made streets slippery. He adds the vehicle traveling south had to be towed while the other vehicle was driveable. There were no injuries.
