Niverville Council concluded to create the Town’s first-ever one-way street on Tuesday.

For traffic now accessing Arena Road, the only way back to Provincial Road 311 will be by way of Krahn Road.

“It’s a safety issue for that intersection,” says Mayor Myron Dyck who mentions traffic stalls that can occur when there is a train or after an event at Centennial Arena.

“This just helps with alleviating traffic, especially when trying to turn left off Arena Road coming back into town.”

Dyck says the decision was made after conversations held with Manitoba Infrastructure. “It’s just a better traffic flow,” says the Mayor, “and just makes it safer.”

The alteration will be in effect as soon as construction on Arena Road is complete.
