Down but never out, the Mitchell Mustangs roared back from being down 4-1 in the second period to pull out an amazing 5-4 overtime win to capture the tournament title on Sunday.

"It was a fun, fun weekend for the coaches, the boys, the parents, and the whole community" Head Coach Luke Bergmann said Monday morning. "It was great hockey. There were good teams and tight games. The 'B' division was extremely competitive. It was amazing to win the whole thing and it was a fun experience for our whole group."

Having to overcome adversity, Bergmann says seeing the celebration after the win made it all the sweeter. "That final game, being down 4-1 in the second, our bench was pretty somber. The boys battled back, though. They clawed back, forced overtime and it was great to see them win. They got to skate around with the little Stanley Cup, they were in the locker room drinking Pepsi and Dr. Pepper out of the cup, that was all very cool."

Being the host team and coming out with the win also meant a great deal to Bergman and the people around the team. "There were so many people who put in a ton of hours to make this all happen. It's great to see the whole team win and it's the perfect ending to a tournament you're hosting."
