Carissa Klassen says her three young girls are what prompted her to run for a position as trustee on the Hanover School Board this coming election.

After realizing that her kids are entrusted to somebody else for six and a half hours, five days a week, Klassen recognized what an immense impact the school division must have on all of its students and wanted to be a part of the process.

Klassen is running for election in Ward 1 which includes Bothwell, Kleefeld, Crystal Springs, and her hometown of Niverville.

At the end of every school year, Klassen believes kids should have noticeable growth in their self-confidence. “And I think the best way for a kid to have confidence is for them to develop meaningful relationships.”

If she is elected this October, Klassen wants to take steps toward helping children feel valued, teachers feel supported and parents feel respected and heard.
