Two individuals from Morris have been charged after a search warrant turned up stolen property, drugs, ammunition and other items.

On July 9th, Morris RCMP executed a search warrant on Main Street. As a result, police seized ammunition, a firearm, counterfeit currency, stolen ID and personal documents belonging to other individuals, along with lawn equipment, multiple power tools, over 50 bicycles and a small amount of drugs.

Forty-six-year-old Jolene Elizabeth Obara of Morris was charged with 11 counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

Forty-seven-year-old Jodie Leigh Sparrow of Morris was arrested and charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of theft of a credit card. 

It was subsequently determined that these individuals are linked to numerous break and enters in the surrounding area between May and July of this year. It was also determined that some seized items were being sold online through various buy and sell websites.

The investigation is ongoing. The RCMP believes more charges may occur as the investigation continues and more victims may be identified. If you have experienced similar thefts in the area, you are asked to call Morris RCMP at 204-746-6355.
