The story of Conscientious Objectors in World War II will be examined at a conference next weekend in Winnipeg. It is being put on by the Chair in Mennonite Studies at the University of Winnipeg.  Professor Royden Loewen says about 10,000 Canadians refused to take part in the war, many of them Mennonites.  He adds they'll look at the issue from a number of perspectives.  Loewen tells us the conference is drawing a lot of attention as people consider the issue of military service in view of current military action in places like Afghanistan.  The event is open to the public.
