A former Landmark resident flew to Winnipeg Thursday and tells about the increased security at airports in the United States.
Adam Kehler, now living in Lawrence, Kansas, says it was surprising to hear airport staff instructing them to dump all liquids and gels from their carry-on bags before boarding the plane in Kansas City.  So he and his wife got rid of bottled water, lip balm, and cosmetics.  Kehler says it was more of an inconvenience than anything, and thinks it probably wasn't necessary to go to such extreme.  The increased security comes after Britain arrested more than 20 people suspected of planning to blow up more than 10 planes flying from Britain to the United States.  Many airports are reported significant delays while some flights are even being cancelled.  Despite the terrorist threat, Kehler says he and his wife still plan to fly home after their stay in Manitoba.
