Gas prices jumped again overnight in Steinbach.

As of Wednesday morning, the price at the pump at some stations is 140.9 cents per litre. That is up six cents per litre from Tuesday.

One year ago today, the price of gasoline in Steinbach was 152.9 cents per litre.

In Steinbach, the price of gas is more expensive than it was prior to the Fuel Tax Holiday, which took effect in the first days of January. The Fuel Tax Holiday, which removes the 14 cent Provincial Sales Tax, is supposed to be in place for six months, though there has been talk of our province considering extending that.

According to GasBuddy, the most expensive gasoline in Canada can be found in British Columbia, where the price at the pump in White Rock is 199.9 cents per litre.

While Manitoba is still the province with the most affordable average gas price in Canada, the cheapest gasoline on Wednesday can be found in Bonnyville, Alberta at 129.9 cents per litre.
