The fire danger remains high in southern Manitoba.
Fire program manager Tom Mirus says they have downgraded the fire danger from extreme to high. But, he says forest travel restrictions remain in effect at Birds Hill Park while areas in north Whiteshell and Bissett remain very dry. Mirus says unless we get more rain soon, the forest fire threat will be here all August. So far this year 494 fires have been reported in our province. Fourteen of those came over the August long weekend. All were contained.
