Dwight Buhler wins 50/50 For Kids Early Bird Prize

50/50 For Kids with Safe Families Canada Steinbach had their Early Bird Draw Wednesday morning where Dwight Buhler won the Early Bird Prize. 

He won a Stihl RE130 Premium Electric Pressure Washer from The Rental House, a Seasonal Trends Outdoor Fireplace from McMunn and Yates, and a GOLD Detailing Package from Steinbach Dodge. 

Buhler explains he hadn’t planned to buy tickets, but the workers at Timber Falls brought up the subject, so he decided to buy two tickets.  

“I went into Timber Falls and I was just buying some scratch tickets, and the girls asked and I just said, ‘might as well just do it’ and I didn't expect anything.”  

Sue Doerksen with Safe Families Canada Steinbach is looking forward to the grand prize draw taking place one week from today. 

“We've got one week left to get those tickets in and just build that number and make someone's day really good.” 

She says she will be very busy selling tickets this week. 

“We are all over town, we'll be at all kinds of different locations throughout the week. You'll see me at the mall, you'll see me at all kinds of places, so come out and find us and get those tickets in for the big draw.” 

Doerksen says it’s been incredible to see the community rallying behind them. 

“We're seeing just the support of the community, both businesses and personally, we're seeing so much support.” 

The money raised goes directly to the local chapter here in Steinbach.
