Driver error is believed to be the cause of a serious collision just outside of Ste. Anne on Saturday morning which sent two people to the hospital in serious condition

Around 9:30 Steinbach RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 12 and PR 210. Police say an eastbound SUV, driven by a 37-year-old female from St. Malo, collided with a northbound SUV, driven by a 54-year-old female from Ste. Anne. Investigators believe the eastbound SUV did not yield the right of way when entering Hwy 12 and was subsequently struck. RCMP note both female drivers, who are believed to have been wearing their seatbelts, were taken to hospital in serious condition. Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the collision.

Steinbach RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionists continue to investigate. Police say no charges have been laid at this time.
