Charges have now been laid in the New Bothwell and Winnipeg Homicide cases, and the stabbing at the Seven Oaks Hospital.

Winnipeg Police Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police held a joint press conference Monday morning. WPS Constable Rob Carver announced the charges.

"Trevor Robert Farley, 37 of Winnipeg, has been charged with Second Degree Murder concerning the death of Stuart Farley, 73 on Toronto Street that occurred in Winnipeg on the 27th, First Degree Murder concerning the death of Judy Swain, 73 in the community of New Bothwell, and Attempted Murder concerning an assault that occurred on October 27th at Seven Oaks Hospital. The accused has been detained in Custody."

RCMP Sergeant Paul Manaigre and WPS Constable Rob CarverWPS and RCMP confirmed earlier reports that Trevor Farley is the son of Stuart Farley and Judy Swain.

According to the police, there was a delay in the charges being laid as the suspect was undergoing a medical assessment though they were unable to share more information other than the assessment was not because of an injury.

Constable Carver also revealed the order of events.

"If you are looking at police response, it's New Bothwell, Seven Oaks, Toronto. If you are looking at timelines of the occurrence of the events, investigators believe it was Toronto, New Bothwell, and Seven Oaks."

All three incidents are believed to have taken place in a very tight window of time on Wednesday, October 27th.

Police say Stuart Farley, the suspect's father, was visited by RCMP to inform him he was the next of kin later Wednesday afternoon after two serious incidents, only to discover he was dead.
