It looks to be another full long weekend for provincial campgrounds.  Barry Bentham with Manitoba Parks is unable to give us numbers of how many campsites are booked, but he expects there will be many people camping this weekend.  There was a liquor ban during May long weekend, but there won't be one during Canada Day weekend.  Bentham says that's because most of the alcohol related problems happen during May long.  On another note, forest fires are causing some concern.  226 fires across Manitoba have been recorded this season, but none of them have affected provincial campgrounds.  However, with the heat and possibility of thunderstorms this weekend, it increases the chance of fires getting out of control.  So Bentham is asking us to keep fires in the designated areas and to keep them small.
