The Winnipeg Blue Bombers play their second road game of the 2011 Canadian Football League season on Saturday afternoon as they'll meet the Argonauts in Toronto.
The Blue Bombers beat the Argos 22-16 back on July 8th in their home-opener. Toronto has played three straight road games to open the season and are finally playing their first game at Rogers Centre. Winnipeg has two wins and a loss while the Argonauts have a win and two losses.
Buck Pierce will be Winnipeg's starting quarterback. Pierce suffered a bruised quadriceps injury to his left leg in the second quarter of the Blue Bombers 21-20 loss to the Calgary Stampeders last Thursday. He did not play the second half and there was concern that the injury would not heal in time for Saturday's game in Toronto. Winnipeg head coach Paul LaPolice decided to go with Pierce after watching his quarterback go through the offensive drills at practice on Thursday.
AM 1250 Sports Director Clayton Dreger asked backup quarterback Alex Brink to talk about his comfort level with the offence should he have to step into the huddle on Saturday.
Winnipeg hasn't won back-to-back road games since September of 2008. Winnipeg beat the Tiger-Cats in Hamilton to open the 2011 season.
Winnipeg offensive lineman Glenn January was asked what's he's expecting from the Argo's on Saturday.
Saturday's game in Toronto is the second of four between the Blue Bombers and Argonauts this season.
