St. Pierre RCMP received two reports Monday morning of thefts that may have been preventable.

Police say two vehicles were stolen from the community of Lorette last night, likely as a result of being left unlocked.

First, RCMP say a pickup truck left unlocked with the keys inside was stolen from a residence Sunday night.

That same night, another unlocked truck was entered but not stolen. Inside this truck, however, were keys to a black 2019 Hyundai Elantra which was then taken.

In light of these and other recent incidents, RCMP encourage residents of the southeast to always lock their vehicles and hide valuables from sight when parked.

Anyone with additional information on these thefts is asked to contact St. Pierre RCMP.
