Though Steinbach saw very little thunder or lightning Tuesday evening, a nasty storm swept through the Town of Ste. Anne.

Susan Poseluzney lives in the east end of Ste. Anne. She notes the storm took her completely by surprise.

"It was about 4:30, quarter to 5 and I was actually sitting at my desk and I looked outside and it seemed fine and then all of a sudden I heard this horrible roar. I thought it was something wrong with the house. I couldn’t see out of the window it was blowing and raining so hard and then it started to hail."

Poseluzney notes her husband works in Steinbach and when he got home he had no idea what had happened.

"All my furniture, chairs and everything was turned over. I was very lucky, people around me lost shingles. I am right beside highway 12, one person on the other side of the highway lost about half of their roof. Down Central right in town, there were trees down, one fell on somebody’s work truck and it hit like a freight train and it left almost as fast."

Poseluzney says it lasted for no longer than 15 minutes and then it was gone.
