There were serious injuries after a pickup truck collided with a semi along the Trans Canada Highway.

At approximately 1:35 Monday morning, a pickup carrying four occupants ran into the back of a semi parked alongside the westbound lanes of Highway 1 about ten kilometres east of Ste. Anne. RCMP say there serious injuries to those in the pickup but no fatalities. The four occupants were transported to hospital in Winnipeg. Police say alcohol is not believed to be a factor but are unsure about speed at this point.

The highway was closed at the time of the crash but has since been reopened.
