Niverville’s Hespeler Park just became a little more fun.

A brand new track for BMX and mountain bikers has been built with the resources and efforts of town residents.

“For about the last year, or maybe a little bit more, we’ve had some residents that were interested in seeing something like this done,” says Mayor Myron Dyck.

The bike track is the brainchild of 13-year-old Owen Poettcker, who enlisted the help of a former competitive mountain biker to see his idea to fruition.

Darren Sakwi, together with the resources and equipment provided by the owner of Artel Farms Grant Dyck and that of Trotco Electric Brian Trottier completed the course with dirt provided by the town.

“We’re always grateful for residents and businesses that continue to want to invest in the community in which they live,” offers the Mayor, “and that’s what makes Niverville great."
