A home along Wolf Drive was fully engulfed in flames by the time La Broquerie firefighters arrived on scene.
Deputy Fire Chief JC Normandeau says crews arrived at the residence, west of Kokomo road and south of Road 34N, at 4:00 Monday afternoon.
“It looks like we had a working fire in the garage,” observes Normandeau, “then the fire spread through the rest of the house.”
Normandeau estimates that the home will be a total loss.
Meanwhile, neighbors watching the blaze say the family whom the house belonged to were not home at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and Normandeau indicates that it will require further investigation by the Office of the Fire Commissioner.
This is a developing story and updates will be added as more information becomes available.
