Emergency personnel were dispatched to a fatal two-vehicle collision Saturday evening near Randolph, on Highway 52 just west of Provincial Road 206 at 10:23 pm.

Kleefeld District Fire Chief John Schroeder says when they arrived on scene a pickup truck was fully engulfed in flames in the ditch, and a car was on the highway. "I don't know the exact details but one vehicle crossed the median and collided head-on with another vehicle."

The occupants of the pickup truck, a 47-year old male and female from Mitchell, were transported to Health Science Centre in Winnipeg. Schroeder says STARS Air Ambulance transported the driver of the pickup while the passenger was transported by ground ambulance. RCMP add the two occupants of the pickup truck sustained serious, though non-life threatening injuries and are now reported to be in stable condition.

The 19-year old Kleefeld man driving the car was the lone occupant and was pronounced dead on scene.

Schroeder notes, Highway 52 was closed for about four hours, from 10:30 pm until 2:30 am while crews cleared the scene and a traffic analyst investigated the crash. RCMP add the investigation is ongoing.
