The SRSS running game was unstoppable Wednesday at Dakota Collegiate.

With snow falling and wind gusting out of the north, the Sabres churned out 439 yards of offense on the ground and defeated the Lancers 50-6.

Dakota took the opening kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown but it was all Steinbach Regional from that point on.

Jaxon Gruninger carried the ball 29 times for 266 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Mason Hartung ran for 179 yards and four majors.

Linebacker Caelen Poetker recorded five tackles for losses and one quarterback sack.

Ryan Kincaid and Jayden Vogt added six tackles each while Kade Lepp recovered a pair of fumbles.

The Sabres, who have three wins and a tie in the Winnipeg High School Football League's Junior Varsity Division, will face the unbeaten Vincent Massey Trojans Wednesday, October 10th at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach.
