Both a win and a loss were seen by the Providence Pilots soccer teams this weekend. The teams were competing at the National Christian College Athletic Association tournament in Minneapolis, MN.

The Pilots womens team beat Crown College of St. Bonifacius 5-3 on Friday and then lost for the first time in three weeks to North Central University 3-1. Meanwhile, the mens team also beat Crown College of St. Bonifacius in a 5-0 victory and then failed to triumph over North Central University and lost 4-3 on Saturday.

"The game against NCU was one of the more frusterating games I have coached," says women's head coach Troy Walker. "The game got out of hand as there were some very unusual calls by the referee, not to mention serious disorganization. The game was called in the 85th minute and then restarted a minute later when he realized there were five minutes left to play."

Walker adds his team has also played four of the last four matches in the rain.

The women are presently fourth in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference standings while the men are in second. Both teams face Red River College and Universite de Saint-Boniface this weekend.
