The three Eastman Wildcats softball teams that made the trip to Missouri on the weekend all returned home with gold medals they won at the 2024 Dylan’s Army USA Softball Tournament.

baseball_2023The gold medal winning U13 AAA Wildcats

Hannah Skrabek allowed just three hits and struck out 12 as the U13 AAA Wildcats defeated Kansas City Ambush 2-1 in the gold medal game. Skrabek also had a hand in both Eastman runs in the bottom of the first. She doubled home Alexa Coulter with the team’s first run and then stole home for the second. The Wildcats had two wins and a loss in pool play. Caleigh Giesbrecht singled home two of Eastman’s five fifth inning runs as the Wildcats doubled up on Diamond Club Premier-Robinson 6-3. Alexa Coulter and Hannah Skrabek combined on a three-hitter and struck out seven as Eastman downed Kansas Krush 12U 7-2. The Wildcats lost their final pool game as KC Fastpitch rallied from a 4-0 first inning deficit and beat Eastman 6-5. The Wildcats finished first in their pool and earned a bye to the semifinals where they recorded 18 hits and beat Diamond Club Premier-Robinson 12-0. Eastman plated eight runs in the first inning. Hannah Skrabek had three rbi while Kylie Plett and Jaycee Neumann combined on a one-hit shutout.

The U15 AAA Wildcats plated seven runs in the first inning en route to a 10-1 victory over Commotion 14U in the gold medal game. Kaylie Tetrault had three rbi for Eastman. Kaitlyn Bonkowski got the win allowing two hits over four innings and struck out two batters. The Wildcats had two wins and a tie in pool play. Sophie Remillard drove in four runs as Eastman defeated KC Athletics McCorkendale 14U 13-1. Karysa Neumann had two hits and stole three bases as the Wildcats downed Kansas Classics Franco 14U 12-3. Eastman and Velocity Academy-Thomsen 14U played to a 5-5 tie. In the single elimination championship bracket – Joelle Normandeau hit an inside the park homer, scoring three runs as Eastman blanked Diamond Club Alliance 14U 6-0. Sophie Remillard had three hits and drove in four as the Wildcats defeated Vortex 14U 14-2 in the semifinals.

Emma Franklin and Annabelle Tetrault drove in three runs each as the U17 AAA Wildcats blanked Diamond Club Fastpitch 11-0 in the gold medal game. Eastman blanked Evolution Fastpitch 2-0 in their pool play opener. Pascale Kihn singled in both Wildcats runs in the first inning. Eastman and Originals 24-25 played to a 1-1 tie. Danyel Heppner drove in the Wildcats lone run. Eastman scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and beat Diamond Club Fastpitch 8-4. Jadyn Plett tossed two innings of no-run ball in relief. Kali Remillard drove in four runs as the Wildcats won their quarterfinal 8-2 over Iowa Gold. Chloe Carriere had three hits including two a pair triples and Kelsey Warkentine and Jadyn Plett combined on a five-hit shutout as Eastman blanked Team KC Fastpitch-Reed 3-0 in the semifinals.
