Investigators believe they have found the body of a Winnipeg woman who went missing last week in the Rural Municipality of Reynolds.

On Tuesday, June 11 at approximately 12pm, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team attended a location where tracks were leading into a pond in the Molson area, south of Seddons Corner, and located a submerged vehicle.

RCMP state the vehicle was removed from the water and a body was found inside.

Investigators believe the remains to be those of the missing woman.

Identification will be confirmed by autopsy.

On Thursday at approximately 4:10 pm, Whitemouth RCMP received a report of a missing 29-year-old woman from Winnipeg.

It was reported to police that Brittany Dawn Storey was in the Rennie area on a group chat with friends when she reportedly announced she had struck a tree, and the call was lost. Despite repeated attempts, nobody was able to reach Storey on her phone.

On Monday, RCMP indicated more information was obtained that led investigators to the Molson area.

RCMP Remote Piloted Aircraft Services had a drone up in the Molson area on Sunday, and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) has been in the air assisting with the search.

Whitemouth RCMP continue to investigate.
