2006 will most likely be rembered for it's incredible growing season. This summer will be remembered as being mostly sunny and hot in southern Manitoba.  Lawn and Garden Journal host Duayne Friesen says the weather provided us with pretty good growing conditions.  Yet that same heat and sunshine is responsible for many annuals looking pale and dried out.  He's not suggesting we go full-force into fall clean-up mode, but friesen does recommend we start getting pulling the plants that are spent.  Meantime, we should check out our local garden centres if we're looking for bulbs like tulips, daffodils, and flowering onions as they need to be planted in fall and won't be available in spring.
