In an effort to show some support for the service provided by the La Broquerie firefighters, a donation was made this week by Twisted Root.

The RV Park near Marchand was the location of a season long fundraiser and owner Hilary Holmes says Leona Goertzen worked hard to organize various events that helped bring in a fair sum.

This allowed the business to choose a local charity for a monetary gift. The presentation was made on Monday, December 20th.

At the ceremony, Holmes said, “Manitoba is known for its beautiful forests and treed parks. This past dry summer was challenging to say the least for our Wildfire Services, Conservation officers and local departments. Everyone at the Twisted Root wishes to recognize and show appreciation to all the departments and people who helped, whether it be on the water bombers, on the ground, or in the offices, for their tireless dedication.”

The Rural Municipality of La Broquerie is building a multi-million-dollar fire hall and it will be located closer to Marchand.
