It turned out to be a costly afternoon for two off-road vehicle riders in Steinbach on Monday.

At approximately 4 pm, Steinbach Traffic Services conducted a proactive stop on two males from Steinbach riding off-road vehicles on McKenzie Avenue.

Police say a total of six tickets were issued under the Off-Road Vehicles Act. There were two tickets for operating an unregistered vehicle, two tickets for operating an off-road vehicle over a roadway or shoulder, one ticket for driving an off-road vehicle without a valid license under the Highway Traffic Act and one ticket for operating an off-road vehicle with a plate that does not match the registration.

According to Steinbach RCMP, the six tickets equalled $985.

Steinbach RCMP would like to remind all off-road vehicle owners that their vehicles need to be registered and insured to be operated and to review the requirements of operating an off-road vehicle in Manitoba and within their local community.
