The RM of Hanover, Manager of Recreation and Community Services says, even before the latest loosening of Covid-19 restrictions, there were several communities that have been really determined to plan special events for their residents.

Jason Peters says though everyone has been struggling to try to figure out what they’re allowed to do safely and within the rules, “there are still some cool things happening this summer.”

He mentions a few of them,

“Grunthal will be hosting a Movie in the Park” on the Hanover Ag Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 7th. The Rec Committee is also planning a Family Fun Day for Saturday, September 11th. They’ve got a really great day planned.”

Peters goes on to say, the Grunthal outdoor pool has also been busy this summer and they still have room for swimming lessons for both kids and adults.

Then Peters takes us “down the road to Kleefeld” where that Rec Committee is planning the 2021 Honey Festival, in whatever capacity they are allowed to host it. It will be taking place on Saturday, August 28th. And finally, wrapping up the summer season with the Kleefeld Honey Run on Saturday, September 18th.

Peters is pleased with these two communities and commends them for doing a lot, in terms of programming.

He also mentions that the outdoor facilities in all communities in the RM of Hanover are open and, “things like the splash pad in Blumenort and the play structures in each of their parks have been busy.”

Peters says, “People are excited to be outside. So I'm just encouraging people to get out and get around the municipality and check out what we have to offer.”
