Brent Reid with Manitoba Agriculture says, overall, the main part of the cereal crops have been harvested. He thought the summer heat would have hurt the cereals, but that hasn't been the case as yields have mainly been good.  The only problem farmers could face is with oats because that crop can't deal with the heat as well as other cereals.  Reid says we are getting into the canola combining now and it won't be as good as predicted.  Especially later seeded canola which will have a short bloom period.  One trend Reid has seen is lots of straight combining.
