The event raised money for Ramona Reimer, who is battling sarcoma cancer. The 24 Hour Hockey Marathon in Mitchell wrapped up Saturday night.  Ray Petkau organized the fundraiser this weekend in Mitchell.  The event raised money for his niece Ramona Reimer, a 22-year-old  who is battling sarcoma cancer.  116 players were involved and they alone raised over $17,000 in pledges.  Additional money was raised with silent auction prizes and sponsorship.  Items donated included tickets to a Boston Bruins game and a chance to sit on the team's bench during warm-ups.  In total the event brought in over $26,000.00.
