The Carillon Sultans are one win away from advancing to the Manitoba Junior Baseball League final. Jesse Goertzen went the distance scattering seven hits as Carillon downed the defending champion St. Boniface Legionaires 7-1 on Wednesday night at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach. The Sultans, who now lead the best-of-five semifinal two games to none, scored a pair of runs in the second, fifth and sixth innings. Carillon and St. Boniface will play game three on Friday at Whittier Park in Winnipeg. The Sultans are perfect in the post-season having recorded five straight wins.
