The Carillon Sultans saw their record fall to 9 and 6 after dropping a doubleheader to the Pembina Valley Orioles Sunday in Morden. The Orioles took the first game 8-5 and won the second game 8-7. The defending Manitoba Junior Baseball League champion Elmwood Giants are 13 and 3 after a 12-0 victory over St.James. The Interlake Knights twinbill in Stonewall against the Altona Bisons was rained out.

The Mitchell Mariners had a win and loss in the Winnipeg Senior Baseball League's Provincial "AA" qualifier this past weekend at Koskie Field. The Mariners beat St.Boniface 11-2 and then lost to St.James. The Kildonan Mudcats won the final and will represent the WSBL at the Provincials.

The Northern Baseball League's Winnipeg Goldeyes dropped a 4-3 to Joliet. John Lackaff won it for the JackHammers with a two-out single in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Goldeyes, who left 10 men on base, are 15 and 13 and will begin a three game series with the Calgary Vipers Tuesday in Winnipeg.

The CN Future Links Prairie championship was held this past weekend at the Elmhurst Golf & Country Club. Kaitlin Troop of Brandon took the Junior Girls title with a 54 hole total of 231. That was seven shots better than Pamela Burneski of Surrey. Connor Zokol of Surrey won the Junior Boys title with a 54 hole total of 223. The Bantam titles went to Myles Sullivan of Portage and Jenna Roadley of Winnipeg.

Darcy Jones and Jamie Jones of Southwood won the Provincial Mixed Team Championship at the Minnewasta Golf & Country Club in Morden with a 36 hole total of 149. Bonnie Borlase and Guy Borlase of Pine Falls were 165. Maddy Lavack and Andy Lavack of the Links at Quarry Oaks were 170.

The National Hockey League's 2005-2006 season will come to an end Monday in Raleigh as the Carolina Hurricanes host the Edmonton Oilers in the seventh and deciding game of the Stanley Cup final.
