Steinbach's Head Engineer is pleased with progress on street construction this year. Phil Kalyta says dry weather has enabled crews to keep up with an ambitious time line.

On Spruce Crescent, He says, "We're basically on schedule. Darco Construction will be completed the sewer work and the watermain renewals by the May long weekend. Then the gas company is going to move in to do about two weeks of gas line and service replacement. Once that's completed we'll move in and start on the road work." The Spruce Crescent project is slated for completion in July.

As for the paving projects, Kalyta says, "There are asphalt overlays going on Chapel Drive and Chrysler and the concrete work for that will commence immediately following the Giesbrecht and Mckenzie sidewalk installation." (above, sidewalk construction on Mckenzie) He adds there's also an asphalt overplay on Pine Crescent with preparation work to begin in the next few weeks.

On the Industrial Road extension, Kalyta says all of the watermain has been installed and crews are progressing with the sanitary and storm sewer systems. Park Road at Industrial(below) has been re-opened following installation of storm sewers there.
