Approximately 60 people joined Bethesda Wellness in celebrating the grand opening of the Stonebridge Wellness Centre on Wednesday with a complimentary lunch and a ribbon cutting.

“ When we started planning back in 2011, the whole vision was to develop a healthcare campus,” informs Chair of Bethesda Wellness Darrel Penner. He explains that Bethesda Wellness is an arm of the Bethesda Foundation that can legally own and operate real estate where the Foundation could not.

“In earlier years we funded small things like beds in the Bethesda Hospital, and, though they were still important, lately we decided we want to make a bigger difference in the community,” says Penner who indicates that the primary goal of the new space is to attract more innovative healthcare services into the Steinbach area.

According to Penner, Stonebridge Wellness Centre is the second phase of a four-part project; the completion of the Bethesda Primary Care Centre was the first.

Penner offers thanks to the donors and people of Steinbach who continue to fund these initiatives that can help can the entire community.
