A man wanted in connection to a stabbing at Steinbach's Summer In The City, has turned himself in to police.

On Friday at 10:05 pm, Steinbach RCMP received a report of an unknown male in possession of a knife on Reimer Avenue and that there could be an injured person in the area.

Patrols were made but the subject was not located. While on scene, officers were advised by EMS that they were transporting the victim, who had suffered a minor physical injury, to the hospital.

Officers attended to the hospital and spoke with the 18-year-old male from Mitchell. He advised police that he had been involved in the altercation with a 23-year-old male, who is also from Mitchell. The 23-year-old allegedly pulled the knife on him.

On Wednesday morning, an arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old Christian Davies from Mitchell, who was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon. According to RCMP, Davies turned himself in to police Wednesday afternoon. He is scheduled to appear in Steinbach court on September 1st, 2022.

Police say the victim and suspect are the same two men involved in a stabbing earlier this month in Mitchell. Only this time the roles were reversed.

No further details are available.
