Steinbach's building boom continued to roll along last month. Mayor Chris Goertzen says the November report on building permits shows $3.9 million worth of permits were issued including 24 for new housing units.

"It's an amazing year when it comes to permits, having virtually 230 new dwelling units started in our city. Almost $60 million in permits have been issued. It's really a banner year for us this year in the city. It's not any one project, it's many projects and quite a variety of projects. It was an exciting month of November and it's culminating in an exciting year."

Housing starts in Steinbach this year are the highest they have been since 2012.

The largest permit in November was for $1.8 million for a 16-suite apartment block along Cambridge Way.
