A business on McKenzie Avenue in Steinbach has been denied permission to put up an oversized sign.  Steinbach Mini-Storage wanted to put up a 4 x 17 sign on the roof which could be seen from Brandt Street.  The sign is larger than what is allowed in the city's bylaw.  Councillors David Banman and Art Rempel are in favour of the sign, noting it would face away from the adjacent residential area.  But councillors Anne Friesen, Elbert Toews and Chris Goertzen feel it would be inappropriate for the neighborhood.  The request was voted down 3-2.
