Miller Day happens this weekend in Steinbach, and it will be even more special than usual.

Colin Loewen, assistant coach for the U15 Miller team, says many special memories have been made in this building, which will soon be replaced with a new arena

“Just a thousand memories for so many people,” he says. “It’s going to be a special few months, taking it all in, remembering it for one last time.”

We can expect to see countless Miller jerseys at the arena Friday evening for the Steinbach Pistons game as part of the Miller Day weekend, which includes many home games scheduled on Saturday for Miller teams.

Lowen says the annual Miller Day is a big deal for many people.

“A lot of people have put a lot of time and effort into the Millers organization for many years,” he explains. “This is a weekend of celebration for those people and the people who are currently involved in the game.”

Loewen says hockey is an opportunity for building relationships and friendships, which will be evident this weekend.
