The City of Steinbach is having a record-breaking year as they have officially hit the $200 million mark in building permits for 2023.
Mayor Earl Funk says there is still one more month to be added to the final total for the year.
“We have officially topped 200 million, our total right now is 202.5 million for this year. And we've got one more month to go, it's usually a slower month, so we will be adding a few million to that yet.”
He says this is by far Steinbach's biggest year in history.
“This is a record year. I don't think we've ever been close to 200 million before, and it's really exciting.”
Overall, it has been an amazing year for growth in Steinbach. However, November was a slower month for building permits with just $4.3 million in permits issued throughout the month.
