When the Seine River School Board chairperson reflects on the past year, the first highlight that comes to mind is the supportive way everyone has responded to the constant changes to the public health orders.

“The biggest success to me is how staff, families, kids, communities have come together to work through the ever-changing school system due to the pandemic,” says Wendy Bloomfield. “People have continued to be adaptable, flexible, patient, understanding, but mostly people are caring.”

She says it has been remarkable to see how people have found ways to show kindness while trying to cope with everything.

“It has been truly amazing to me to see how people come together and support each other through this,” she says.

One of the challenges with changing health orders has been a lack of clarity, Bloomfield says.

nkful the bill was tossed.

But she recognizes there is still some uncertainty as to what the future holds when it comes to education reform in the province.
