The Winnipeg Blue Bombers face the B.C. Lions today at IG Field in the CFL’s West Division final. The opening kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. Receiver Dalton Schoen will not play. He suffered an ankle injury in the Bombers week 18 victory over the Lions. Receivers Nic Demski, Rasheed Bailey and Greg McCrae are listed as game time decisions. The Toronto Argonauts host the Montreal Alouettes at 2 p.m. in the East Division final. The winners will meet in the 110th Grey Cup in Hamilton on November 19th.


The Steinbach Huskies and Macdonald Swarm were winners in the Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League Friday night. Seth Bergman and Theo Koop had two goals each as the Huskies downed the Red River Mudbugs 7-3 at the T.G. Smith Arena. Dayne Bruce scored twice as the Swarm beat the Landmark Blues 5-2.


Raiden LeGall made 24 saves and Kaycee Coyle had three assists in the Niverville Nighthawks 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Freeze.
 

The St. Malo Warriors and Beausejour Comets both played home games Friday night. The Warriors lost 5-0 to Lundar. Falcons netminder Nigel Taylor stopped 25 shots in recording the shutout. Nikolas Bear had a goal and two assists as the Comets downed the Arborg Ice Dawgs 6-1 at the Sun Gro Centre. 


Sara Manness of La Salle and Breanne Comte of Winnipeg did the goal scoring as Team Manitoba defeated Team Atlantic 2-1 in the seventh place game at the 2023 National Women’s U18 Hockey Championship in Dawson Creek.


The Ile des Chenes Northstars and Warren Mercs were winners in the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League. Justin Tremblay had two goals and an assist as the Northstars downed the Portage Islanders 4-2. Patrick D’Amico also had two goals and an assist as the Mercs beat the Carman Beavers 8-4.


Manitoba’s Kyle Kurz, Beth Peterson, Ian McMillan and Melissa Gordon will meet Scott McDonald of Ontario in the semifinals at the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Swift Current. Shaun Meachem of Saskatchewan will take on Paul Flemming of Nova Scotia in the other semi. Team Kurz defeated McDonald 4-3 and lost 11-2 to Meachem on Friday and finished the Championship Pool in second place with a 9-1 record.
