Eric Mateychuk and Mason Martens scored two goals each and Riley Plett made 25 saves as the Steinbach Huskies blanked the Landmark Blues 6-0. Ethan Plett and Ethan Unger also scored for the first place Huskies who improved to 16-1 and moved six points ahead of the second place Springfield Xtreme. Blues netminder Luke Giesbrecht stopped 47 shots. Bryson Loewen had a goal and two assists as the Red River Mudbugs doubled up on Lorette 4-2. Tyler Van de Velde and Grady Forster replied for the defending champion Comets.


The Steinbach Pistons dropped a 3-2 decision to the Portage Terriers at Stride Place. Warren Clark and Kirk Mullen scored second period goals for the Pistons. Kaden Kohle’s power play goal at 7:06 of the third period tied the game at 2-2 and Ryan Botterill potted the winner with 1:50 remaining in regulation. Josh Paulus scored 2:48 into overtime to lift the Niverville Nighthawks past the Neepawa Titans 4-3 at the Yellowhead Centre.


Ethan Doell, Radek Merasty, Ashton Dubois, Kaden Rioux and Thomas Maynard did the goal scoring as the St. Malo Warriors defeated the Lundar Falcons 5-2 and Jaiden Reeb scored Beausejour’s lone goal in the Comets 6-1 loss to the Arborg Ice Dawgs.


Brenden Walker had three goals and three assists as the Ste. Anne Aces downed the Morden Bombers 12-5. Keith Grondin, Owen Blocker and Ken Selby added two goals each for the Aces (9-1-0-2) who moved two points ahead of the Portage Islanders in the race for first place in the SEMHL. The Islanders do have three games in hand. Cole Penner had a pair of goals for the Bombers (6-4-0-1) who are one point back of the third place Ile des Chenes Northstars.


Nate Danielson scored his 19th goal of the season and assisted on markers by Brett Hyland and Quinn Mantei as the Brandon Wheat Kings held on for a 3-2 victory over the Portland Winterhawks at Westoba Place. Carson Bjarnason stopped 34 shots.


Pierre-Luc Dubois scored twice and Kyle Connor had a goal and an assist as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2 at Canada Life Centre. Morgan Barron sealed the deal with a shorthanded empty net goal with 1:24 left in regulation. Josh Morrissey chipped in with three assists for the Jets who have won four in a row and will host the Vancouver Canucks Sunday afternoon.


Jansen Harkins potted the winner 2:46 into overtime as the Manitoba Moose edged Laval 5-4. The Rocket scored three times in the final 5:32 of regulation to tie the game at 4-4.
