The South East Sno-Riders Club held their Vintage Machines Swap Meet and Show and Shine in Woodridge on Saturday in preparation for the snowmobile season.

Club President Dave Boutang says this is the second year they have run the swap meet and they were very pleased with the turnout and the positive response.

"The people come out and walk around looking at stuff and we have a show and shine as well and this year we have invited the car club out of Steinbach and the tractor club out of Steinbach and ATV’s and people come around and say ‘I used to own one just like this’ and they get to chatting with whoever owns it and it is really refreshing to see so many people interested in the old stuff."

Boutang says there was a number of vintage snow machines at the show and shine as well as a 1930 Model A car and a swamp vehicle. He says they hope this event helps get riders excited about the coming snowmobile season.

"There are quite a few people talking, asking us how can we help and giving us phone numbers to phone them when it is time to go out and put up signs and clean trails so that is pretty good."

Boutang says they have already begun preliminary maintenance on their snowmobile trails as they look forward to winter.
