Several centimeters of fresh snow covered southeastern Manitoba this morning. This is causing some tough driving conditions on the highway. All highways throughout the Southeast are reporting heavy snow, drifting, blowing snow, and swirling snow in traffic. 

All schools in Hanover School Division are closed to students and staff today, due to extreme weather and hazardous winter driving conditions.

Most other schools divisions have also cancelled classes for Thursday.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement, saying that prolonged light snow may cause impactful snowfall accumulations. Yesterday they said that we should expect as much as 15 centimeters of snow in a 36-hour period. 

The Perimeter Highway in Winnipeg has been reopened since being closed at 10 PM Wednesday.
