Update: Hanover and Border Land school divisions have also closed schools for Wednesday, April 13.

The Seine River School Division, Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine, and Sunrise School Division have all decided to preemptively cancel classes and close their schools on Wednesday, April 13th.

The SRSD decision was made after the RCMP announced that most southern Manitoba highways would be closed down around midnight. Schools and board offices will be closed and teachers will not be expected to report to work.

Meanwhile, DSFM made the decision to cancel classes at 9 P.M. Tuesday. With the exception of their school in Thompson, all DSFM schools will be closed on both Wednesday and Thursday.

According to a post on the Sunrise School Division website, classes have been cancelled due to forecasts of inclement weather and anticipated highway closures. No buses will be running and all Schools and Sites will be closed Wednesday.
